Hi! Okay I’m probably going to waffle on for a bit so I’ll put this under a thing, but in short: play around, you’ll find what works for you…be prepared for it to take a while though if this is your first time using both a tablet and digital drawing software.
First, I’m not sure if I’m the best person to give advice on this ^^’ when I started digital work I only used a mouse, which I did for 5 years until I got a small Intuos. And when I got a tablet I still preferred mouse stuff, took ages before I was happy to use it. Also I use PaintTool SAI for my work, I find the brushes in Photoshop very annoying. I used Photoshop up until I got my tablet which is when I moved to SAI. Now I use a combination of the two for different things.
SAI is good for easy to use tools, PS has a bigger range of more complex tools. As for getting nice lines…I really can’t help you, sorry. I find it very difficult to get good PS lines it always feels very jarring and slow to me.
And as for shading that is one thing that is pretty similar between them! or at least with how I shade, and I have several tutorials on how I do it.
If you’d like to know something more specific I’m happy to have another crack at answering, or make a tutorial, or a recording or whatever :) But yeah, just practice and you’ll find what works. You might find that you start to mimic your traditional techniques…at least that’s what I’ve found. And thank you!

Some outfit blocking for my Inquistor, I might start working out more designs like this ^^’ the process is quite a bit friendlier than how I normally do it…
…by which I mean less tedious and with nicer results.

Hi! I’m glad you like it all~ :D hmm, I’m assuming you’re referring to my sparkly series of fanart (if not tell me specifically which one and I’ll try again XD)
For all of them I just use a series of 2 sort of textured layers (sometimes a third if I need an overlay on the character as well) and a sparkly layer.
generally I’ve repeated that for all of my things, just with streaks a bit different and colours changed. The textured brush is one I’ve made myself, along with the diamond shape brush.
