Hiya! and thanks :) hmm, well if you find a specific drawing you would like to know my process for, next time I do a similar drawing I can record or take process shots of it. I recorded the process today for one of these drawings, which I’ll be posting tomorrow.

I can’t really record my sketches, they’re done in a sketchbook. I often sketch things on the fly so it’s a bit tricky to record and set up a camera.

I’m not sure if it’s overly helpful to see how I sketch anyhow ^^’ I frequently switch between blocking and learned shapes. Or to put it differently, regular shapes like circles and junk, and forms I can just draw from memory.

These shapes I’ve learned how to do through trial and error, I can only suggest that you do the same. These are things like faces, bodies, hands and such. I tend to sketch through learned shapes and then go back over them with basic ones if it looks off or to figure out volume.

Experiment with different ways of sketching, eventually you find a way you like, and you’ll continue to find new things! I understand the frustration though of trying to move forward or draw new things and you aren’t very good at it…just gotta try a new angle! :)

I’ve actually posted a process thing for the Lapis animation a while ago! you can check it out here :) I will blabber a bit more about the process below the thing though-

First I sketch it out, keeping in mind where their gem is and what will animate. The exception to this is the Lapis one where I prioritized her animation. All of the animations are only 6 frames, so not a lot can be happening.

I use photoshop for the final rasterizing of the image. After sketching on paper I scan it in and bring it in to TVPaint where I figure out the animation.

After that I take the picture in to PaintToolSAI and do all the normal colouring, depending on what’s animated I’ll either bring the frames in to SAI and redo them there, or bring the picture in to TVP and do it there.

I used to use PS, I’d sketch it out in SAI and take it in to PS to check if the animation worked. Now I use PS after the base drawing and animated bits are done. I put all the bits together in one file, and lay out the animation.

When that’s all good I add in a couple of colour adjustment layers if it needs it, then save it out as a gif!

And thank you!…and uh…I have no idea XD hehe, I have a massive folder of pictures I really like, but it’s hard to pin down exactly what inspires me, it ranges from art, media and people.

Oooh ; O ; thank you very much! I’m glad you like them! I’ve been meaning to get back in to doing little short comics with them to work on them more, but I have been doing some writing with them.

Here’s a basic summary though:

Pyxis is a little alien girl who accidentally ended up on a planet whose only inhabitant is Astrid, a several hundred year old robot witch. Together they have shenanigans making dangerous weapons and going on adventures as Pyxis heads toward her dream of becoming a villain~

…probably more I could blabber about, but I am in the middle of sorting major plot elements, but that stuff is constant~:) there are a couple of other characters too.

A white gel pen! :) very handy, I can’t remember where I got it from but I do know one thing…I really need a new one.

I’m actually in the middle of setting up prices for custom card commissions! they’ll still probably cost around $12, but will offer more detail, colour and be on a different cardstock :) I’m hoping to get the prices up some time today! I’ll also be updating the costs for some of my other things.
