Yupyup, it’s pretty simple so hopefully I can explain it ^^’
Got a bunch of images so I’ll put it under a thing :O
First just take whatever it is you want glowing-
Next either lock the transparency and draw in whatever colours you want, or create a layer on top and clip it to what you want glowing and fill that in-
(I forgot to highlight the bit in PS, just check the icon of the chequered square)
then just proceed as normal :) if you have something like this happen where the colours look a bit weird when your layers are styled-
then you will have to either change the colours on one of the layers, or not use layer styles and just select all colours manually like this-
which can be done the same way as before by either locking transparency or making a clipping mask.

thought I’d try doing a full picture of Pyxis in her fairy queen outfit :) also wanted to try taking my time a bit more after seeing how little long pictures I did last year >_> probably doesn’t show but oh well, I know I took my time XD …more so

minau: Hello! I have a tiny question about your glowing stuff tutorial. c: how did you set your layer to "add"? I don't seem to have that on my paint tool sai and was wondering how you got it set to that.
Hi :3 in SAI the layer style is called Addition, and you should be able to find the blend modes box just above where you make a new layer in your layers box:

oh and if your version of SAI is like mine and has a couple of unnamed or corruptly named blend modes and you can’t find Addition or Add then it could be one of those :O

…one of those progress/improvement thingys :| haven’t done one since 2010 ^^’ it’s silly to have it go back to 2000, but I found some pictures from then that I could actually date XD (they’re still probably wrong though). Also I didn’t seem to draw much in April, June and October, was hard to find something from then to use . _____ .
Fun Fact: I changed Astrid’s design so much last year that I was able to make a monthly chart of her design OTL

some Astrid expression doodles from the other day and some poses for the hell of it from just now XD usually sitting down and trying to draw her face over and over is a saddening experience…this wasn’t so bad…didn’t get much of a range though >_>
I keep forgetting that she’s a witch >:| need to draw her doing some magic crap.

Hiya :3 and sorry, but I use PaintToolSAI for almost all of my work so I can’t really help you there. I can show you how I work with SAI but not PS. I started working with SAI in 2011, so if you like how I did things before that then I can try and help, otherwise I’m not of much use ^^’ sorry.
karitoru: With your glowing stuff post how do you do the rainbow coloured glow line? I dunno how :3
