OH! that’s a colour plan, sometimes I’ll just wing it with colours, other times I rough it out in PS because it has more colour adjustment options than when I finish up in SAI.
The full steps for Eda’s plan were, model colour blocking, colour overlay, and adjust the levels!
For lines I’ll either lock opacity/transparency, or make a new layer and clip/mask it to the lines when colouring. Uhh there’s no rule, on Eda there are actually bits I missed that I’d normally colour XD but usually I’ll colour inner lines and leave outer lines darker. or if the spot needs to stand out or is in shadow.

The PS4 R & C wasn’t my entry into the series, but seeing the trailers for it had me interested and so I bought aCiT and loved it, it took over a year to actually beat because I was a) awful at video games and b) struggle to finish games, I then played the PS4 game and liked it, but never finished it, due to - as I said before - the fact I really struggle to finish games, and have unfortunately lost the disk, so I was never able to finish - I did later go on and play the rest of the Future Saga
whoa that’s interesting :O haven’t heard of seeing one game and buying a different one from the series, but I suppose that’s a thing (actually that’s probably more sensible, I’m used to jumping into the middle of a series OTL)
cool to hear that the trailer and CiT got you into the series though!

OH! I have another Ratchet & Clank question if anyone feels like helpin me out!
If the PS4 reboot was your first game, what did you like and dislike the most? or I guess your general feel :O
I’m trying to write more analysis notes, but it’s hard for me to treat it as its own game and not as a reboot :\ most of my opinions end up highlighting differences, but I want to know how it holds up for someone new.
Clank being severely under utilized, and frankly, a really boring, one note character.
Devoid of personality. When your game is called Ratchet AND Clank you need to show me what makes their duo a strong and dynamic one. The PS4 game/movie failed at this. Ratchet hogged too much of the spotlight, which left Clank in the dust. I can’t remember any memorable moment for him, which is something I can do with Ratchet… and Qwark.
Which is quite a shame because Clank became one of my favourite characters in the series when I played the other titles.
OH that was one of my main critiques, I was worried it was
from nostalgia though cause I do love original Clank ^^’ so that’s kind of nice to hear. Yeah he sometimes is kinda uhh…backpack…unfortunately. Glad that overall you liked it though :D

i hope it’s cool to ask about the process video: What is it you are doing when you color in BEFORE doing the lineart? Also, what is the tenchique you use to color line art? (or I guess rule? Like i notice some of the lineart remains black while some areas are colored)
