GAH! Sorry, I meant to reply to this ages ago OTL but thank you!! I absolutely adore the Sugar Rune manga! I’ve been meaning to draw Vanilla as well, quite surprised at my lack of S2R content considering how much I’ll gladly ramble about it XD
…yeeaaahhh I reaaaallly like talking about Sugar Rune. But yeah I feel the same about the commercialised thing. I’ve only seen bits of the anime here and there, but it always felt weird that they transform into magic outfits for no reason, and that they’re given wands instead of having to earn them and make their own (it gets rid of the context for why they have each spell!).
Because it deviates heavily from the manga the story and ending are fairly different too…by which I mean they’re almost complete polar opposites XD the episodes I’ve seen are really jarring after reading the manga, they have all the bits from it but rearranged? kind of? the anime was produced before the manga was finished, so it makes sense but >_>
sorry I have a lot of feels about Sugar Rune . ____ . please read it. If anyone wants a list of things I like in it I’ll gladly babble some more~

Anonymous: Will you do a card for Hessonite and Squaridot from the game? I know they are not in level 1 canon, but we'd love to see them in your style!
Maybe some day, I haven’t played the games :O if I ever get around to playing them I might add them though!

Anonymous: I really appreciate that you draw Sugar Sugar Rune in the style of the manga. The anime is cute, but for some reason it just feels too commercialized to me. They don't stick to the story and they make it too much about the magical girl thing. I grew up reading the manga and I hardly see anyone drawing it, so it means a lot that someone else loves it too!
