I had a nicer flipbook for 2005 but I seem to have lost it. So it's a good thing I made my school books into them.
A friend showed me a program for making glitter gifs, I ended up getting different program that could do more than 3 frames. It could also import video! so I traced a lot of anime...
Traced more anime stuff, this one isn't though. Instead of bringing my usual sketchbook to class I brought a folder full of animation frames.
Worked on a short animation for class and another in my own time with my characters Sakura and Momotaro. One was done in PS, the other on bits of post-it notes.
I actually forgot I animated this. A little short thing that was never finished. This was the only thing I did in 2009. I mainly did drawings and made flash games.
Focused on making pixel animations, didn't animate anything else. Made more Flash games.
Spent more time illustrating than animating, only made a couple of small pixel icons.
Started Uni! ended up there by chance, as I'd forgotten that I liked animating and had no idea I could study it.
Started using TVpaint...animated many sparkles...wasn't able to completely finish my shorts.
ANIMATED MORE SPARKLES ...and actually finished my animations. Huzzah.

Hi! Okay I’m probably going to waffle on for a bit so I’ll put this under a thing, but in short: play around, you’ll find what works for you…be prepared for it to take a while though if this is your first time using both a tablet and digital drawing software.
First, I’m not sure if I’m the best person to give advice on this ^^’ when I started digital work I only used a mouse, which I did for 5 years until I got a small Intuos. And when I got a tablet I still preferred mouse stuff, took ages before I was happy to use it. Also I use PaintTool SAI for my work, I find the brushes in Photoshop very annoying. I used Photoshop up until I got my tablet which is when I moved to SAI. Now I use a combination of the two for different things.
SAI is good for easy to use tools, PS has a bigger range of more complex tools. As for getting nice lines…I really can’t help you, sorry. I find it very difficult to get good PS lines it always feels very jarring and slow to me.
And as for shading that is one thing that is pretty similar between them! or at least with how I shade, and I have several tutorials on how I do it.
If you’d like to know something more specific I’m happy to have another crack at answering, or make a tutorial, or a recording or whatever :) But yeah, just practice and you’ll find what works. You might find that you start to mimic your traditional techniques…at least that’s what I’ve found. And thank you!

Some outfit blocking for my Inquistor, I might start working out more designs like this ^^’ the process is quite a bit friendlier than how I normally do it…
…by which I mean less tedious and with nicer results.

Hi! I’m glad you like it all~ :D hmm, I’m assuming you’re referring to my sparkly series of fanart (if not tell me specifically which one and I’ll try again XD)
For all of them I just use a series of 2 sort of textured layers (sometimes a third if I need an overlay on the character as well) and a sparkly layer.
generally I’ve repeated that for all of my things, just with streaks a bit different and colours changed. The textured brush is one I’ve made myself, along with the diamond shape brush.

some Dragon Age doodles while I’m at it…I’ve forgotten how I draw non-chibi things . ___ . eventually I’ll remember, then draw a bunch of Solas and Sera fanart~ and probably stuff of my Inquisitor~

After seeing sashamutch’s animation progress deelie I thought I’d have a try too :O albeit a bit messy…and with less examples for each year…also apologies for this wall of gifs. Each year is captioned with stuff.
I slightly altered the 2006 gif, somehow 12 year old me managed to animate the legs forward but the hair backwards…so I just reversed the hair…
